There's a 2.5L 4-cylinder SUBARU BOXER® engine that gets up to 175 horsepower, as well as a larger 3.6L 6-cylinder SUBARU BOXER® engine that gets up to 256 horsepower. With that much power you'll be able to tow up to 2,700 pounds.

A Lineartronic® Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) provides you with intelligent and precise shifting and helps the new Outback get an EPA-estimated 25 MPG city and 32 MPG highway.
