What's New For 2023?
For the 2023 model year, the Subaru Outback receives some light restyling for its exterior. Inside, the infotainment suite gets a welcome upgrade, adding wireless smartphone integration to the mix, which helps reduce the clutter than a cable or two can easily create if you need a device connected while you're on the go. In higher trims, notably the Touring edition, an enhanced collision mitigation system is added to the already well-equipped and highly safe new 2023 Subaru Outback.
Performance and Capabilities
As far as its performance goes, the new 2023 Subaru Outback is a remarkable SUV. For keeping its peak efficiency levels, stick with the standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which produces a capable 182 horsepower with 176 pound-feet of torque. In this setup, you'll earn up to 32 mpg on the highway, a strong rating for an SUV of this size and with its capabilities. If you're willing to sacrifice a few mpgs for better performance levels, choose an edition of the new 2023 Outback that uses a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder, which produces 260 horsepower with 277 pound-feet of torque.
In all editions and setups, the new 2023 Outback uses the standard Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system to deliver high-end traction and control. This feature is great when you travel during tough New England winters, when roads are covered with ice and snow. You'll also be able to take your new Outback off the beaten path, with both its AWD system and its raised ground height allowing you to traverse a variety of terrains. Meanwhile, the base four-cylinder's excellent fuel economy rating is even more impressive when you consider the standard AWD system in place.
Safety and Technology
As you'd expect out of any new Subaru model found here, the 2023 Outback is loaded with smart technology. The updated infotainment system begins with a standard pair of 7-inch touchscreens, offering different controls and functions that are easy to use from behind the steering wheel. Standard smartphone integration keeps you connected and entertained while you're on the go, while you'll want to see what's offered in higher trims. Moving up to the Premium and other advanced trim levels gives your Outback a larger 11.6-inch tablet-style touchscreen, which works well with the optional wireless smartphone integration apps.
The 2023 Subaru Outback is also amazingly safe, which comes as little surprise to long-term fans of this brand. With the standard Subaru EyeSight safety suite, you'll have a solid starting collection of helpful driver aids. In the base level, these include forward collision mitigation, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control and automatic high beams. Moving up to higher trims will add extra safety aids like blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, a driver attention monitor, upgraded pedestrian and cross-traffic detection and more. Let us know what safety aids and features are important for you to have, and we'll match you up with the perfect edition of the new 2023 Subaru Outback.
