New for 2022?
The Subaru Forester received a few changes for
the 2022 model year. Providence drivers will likely notice the exterior's
changes first. Subaru reworked the grille, and the headlamps are now blocky in
style. The Subaru brand also introduced new wheel designs.
On the inside of the new Subaru Forester,
drivers will enjoy the option of gesture controls for climate control. Yes, you
read that correctly; you'll be able to adjust the heat or air conditioning with
a simple wave of your hand. The panoramic sunroof that Subaru traditionally
reserved for upper trim levels is now standard in all trims, except the base
trim.
Subaru also made a few adjustments to the
EyeSight driver-assist features. First, the camera sensors offer an upgrade.
This upgrade widens the driver's field of view. The camera sensors will also
serve to expand the operating range of the camera system. Other additions to
the Forester's driver-assist system include an Automatic Emergency Steering
System. One upgrade Raynham drivers will certainly enjoy is the SI-Drive
driving mode selector's availability in every trim of the Subaru Forester. The
Forester models equipped with a four-cylinder engine will possess an auto
start-stop feature.
One other thing we should add to the "new
for 2022" category is the introduction of a new trim, the Wilderness.
You'll likely hear this referred to as the Forester Wilderness 'Edition'. The Wilderness trim will provide additional ground clearance and
enhancements to the exterior to give the Forester a more rugged
appearance.
Subaru Forester Trim Levels
The Subaru Forester comes in six trim
levels:
- Base
- Premium
- Sport
- Limited
- Wilderness
- Touring
The Base Forester offers a 2.5-liter
four-cylinder, naturally aspirated engine. Customers will also enjoy
next-generation EyeSight driver-assist features, symmetrical all-wheel drive,
and X-MODE with hill descent control. Also included in the base trim is a
6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring access to Apple CarPlay or
Android Auto, Bluetooth, Sirius XM, dual USB ports, remote keyless entry, and
hands-free operation of the radio.
The Subaru Forester Premium offers all the base
features. It adds enhanced roof rails, more tie-down points on the vehicle,
steering responsive LED headlights, keyless entry, push-button start, heated
seats and mirrors, fog lights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a de-icer
for the windshield wipers.
The new Forester Sport offers black-finish
18-inch wheels, a black rear roof spoiler, and orange accents across the
exterior. On the inside of the Sport, orange stitching accents the interior
materials. This trim also offers dual-function X-MODE so that drivers can
better traverse inclement weather in Taunton.
The sophisticated Subaru Forester Limited is the
top trim, and leather seats and a leather steering wheel are standard
amenities. The power rear tailgate offers auto close and height memory. Climate
control at this trim comes voice-activated. This trim offers a seven-speed
manual mode as well. Chrome accents the lights of the exterior, and the wheels
are eighteen inches.
