Subaru enthusiasts in Fall River have a lot to be excited about for the upcoming year. The 2026 Trailseeker was just unveiled at the New York International Auto Show this April, and it’s already generating excitement.
This is only Subaru’s second-ever foray into the world of battery-electric vehicles, despite adding a number of hybrid models to the lineup in the past few years, such as the Forester Hybrid and upcoming Crosstrek Hybrid. And with the adoption of the North American Charging Standard (NACS), it can be charged at any standard charging station around Raynham.
The 2026 Trailseeker bears some resemblance to Subaru’s first EV model, the Solterra, but is about six inches longer, and featuring a taller SUV body shape for an overall more spacious ride. It will also be more powerful, boasting a towing capacity of up to 3,500 pounds, and 8.3 inches of ground clearance for capability that goes off the beaten track. The Trailseeker is clearly striving to live up to its name, marketing itself as the ultimate gas-free companion for your next fishing or camping trip around New Bedford. With electric motors in the front and rear of the SUV, the Trailseeker is estimated to generate 375 horsepower
Now the question you’re all asking yourselves—what is the range on this SUV, anyway? Many drivers get range anxiety with electric vehicles, but the 2026 Subaru Trailseeker assuages those with over 260 miles of driving range on a single charge. You could drive from Taunton to Boston round-trip three times and still have enough charge left for a trip to Providence. And with fast-charging capability, if you need to make a pit stop to charge up, you won’t be waiting long.
