  • Our family dream car

From the moment we test drive this SUV, we knew right away or was perfect for our 6 person family. Everyone is comfortable in the gray feeling seats, and can easily get in and out of the vehicle unlike others we previously owned. I could go on and on, but bottom line is this is a tale Subaru made for all of us!
  • Poorly designed interior, poor performance

Drivers seat will not raise high enough for a short person, passenger seat will not raise at all, to many cup holders and not enough misc. storage. Right arm rest is to far away. Door panels could have been designed with more storage but Subaru wasted the space. The transmission shutters and vibrates the car occasionally, the engine will sometimes hesitate Until I think the engine is cut off. I wish I had never bought this car. I purchased it based on Subaru’s past reputation. Apparently it did not carry over in the Ascent.
  • Horrible engine choice for this vehicle

I would not recommend buying the Ascent if your previous vehicle had a V6. It is sorely underpowered and the responsiveness is horrible for a vehicle so expensive. I will say the performance is horrible but the truck is nice and very comfortable on the inside. If you don't care about the way it drives then it's a very nice vehicle. The transmission has issues also that Subaru is aware of.
